Irish Spring Break Tour Itinerary
Saturday, March 19 - Guests will depart
from the U.S. on overnight flights to Dublin, arriving early March 20. Overnight flights
include dinner and light breakfast. Call if you want
assistance with flights.
Sunday, March 20 - Arrive in Dublin, where our
driver/guide will meet us outside Customs/Baggage Claim. We depart Dublin
and drive to the mystical and beautiful Hill of Tara, home of the ancient
Irish High Kings. It is said you can see most of Ireland from here on a
clear day. We pass by Trim Castle, site of many famous concerts, including
the Rolling Stones, and the famous Boyne Valley, site of the great battle.
Then it’s on to Kildare to see St. Brigid’s Cathedral and its ancient
Round Tower, one of only two in Ireland that can be entered and climbed
(for an added fee). We’ll make a stop at the lovely K Club, a gorgeous
hotel and golf club that hosted the Ryder Cup matches. Then it’s on to
the historic city of Kilkenny, home of Kilkenny Castle. Our hotel, with
included Irish Welcome Dinner, is the Pembroke Hotel, which is adjacent to
the renowned arts and crafts Kilkenny Design Center, built in the former

Monday, March 21 – Depart Kilkenny for a scenic drive to a photo stop
at the Rock of Cashel, and on to Blarney to see the Castle and kiss the
Blarney Stone if you dare. It’s on to Tralee, home of the Rose of Tralee
Festival, and our royal hotel for the night, Ballyseede Castle. Our royal

Tuesday, March 22 – Depart for the Dingle Peninsula, a dramatic
scenic drive. We’ll have lunch in the charming seaside town of Dingle,
and maybe catch a glimpse of the famous dolphin, Funghi, that calls Dingle
home. Killarney is our home for two nights in the heart of town and
adjacent to the national park and the Lakes of Killarney. Our hotel is the

Wednesday, March 23 – Tour the Ring of Kerry, considered one of the
most scenic drives in the world, with several lovely s tops
along the way. You’ll have time to explore lovely Killarney and it’s
lively music pubs and shops. There are beautiful walking trails in the
national park, too. Our group dinner is at the hotel. (B,D)
Thursday, March 24 – We head east today, through the village of Adare,
one of the loveliest in Ireland, then through Limerick, childhood home of
Frank McCourt, who wrote Angela’s Ashes, plus the imposing King
John’s Castle. After traveling through the lovely heart of Ireland, we
arrive in Dublin and take a panoramic tour of the city and visit the
Guinness Storehouse, Ireland’s most visited attraction, topped by a pint
in the Gravity Bar atop Dublin. Our hotel for two nights is the Davenport
Hotel in the heart of the city. Our neighbors are Oscar Wilde’s former
home, Merrion Square, the National Museums, National Library and nearby
Grafton Street and Trinity College, as well as many pubs, restaurants,

Friday, March 25 – You are free to explore Dublin today. the hotel is
an easy walk from many of the city’s top sites, including Trinity
College and the Book of Kells, Grafton Street’s shopping, the Old Post
Office and more. We’ll also have our Dublin Sister City Ceremony today.

Saturday, March 26 – Spend your final morning enjoying Dublin before
we provide transfers to the airport for departing flights, which would get
us home this afternoon or evening. (B)
